Steph Newton

Steph Newton grew up in Lostwithiel and it was here that she was shown the rudiments of piano by her grandfather when she was five, and soaked up the sounds and feel of classic RnB and soul that echoed round the rooms of the family home.

As well as winning a local radio station’s Cornwall’s Got Talent competition and harnessing some management support, 2008 saw Steph share stages with two top ten acts McFly and Gabriella Cilmi, have her own live session on BBC local radio, be selected as a featured artist on the UK Soul website, play several local festivals, numerous local gigs and have a show in Camden and received extensive local media coverage.

In 2009 Steph self-released a 5 song EP titled ‘Everything you need’. She did all the writing, singing, playing, recording, mixing and producing the songs by herself.
